Goss Garage Auto Repair

I have been a loyal customer of Goss Garage II for over five years. Recently, I took my wife's Town and Country Van to a dealership for a routine oil change, filter and general vehicle inspection. The dealership told me that the van needed new brake pads, change of brake fluid and automatic transmission system flush. I told the dealership I would take care of it myself and immediately took the van to Goss Garage II. Upon their inspection, they found that the brake pads were fine, and the automatic transmission system was in good condition. They replaced the brake fluid. Goss Garage II is a fine example of true customer service. They saved me money Again! Paul N. Blechinger, MSG, U.S. Army (Ret). Paul N. Blechinger, MSG, U.S. Army (Ret).

I was hearing a bad grinding noise coming from the car when I pressed on the brakes. I had taken my car to Goss’ in Lanham before and had great experiences but they were booked solid. Goss II in Gambrills was able to take me and they were awesome. Mick and Melissa did a great job at the front desk!! Very polite and communicated what was wrong and what needed to be done. The rotors and pads plus some calipers were bad, and the oil needed to be changed too. The mechanics are awesome 🙂 My car rides like a dream now!!!

Staff was friendly & willing to explain thoroughly what was going on with my car ! They alerted me thru email/phone call throughout the whole process until the call that my car was ready ! They also accept my military discount ! I will definitely return for future work & I recommend them as they were recommended to me !

I have been taking my vehicles to a Goss's Garage for many years, and I have yet to have a bad experience. The seminal point that makes this shop so far above the rest, is that they are honest and straight forward. I have gotten to know the mechanics in the two shops over the years (most, but no all of them), and the ones I have talked to have always been knowledgeable, and willing to take me through what they say needs to be done, and why. I have a fair amount of automotive technical knowledge myself, and can appreciate how they explain things. I have never felt like they were talking down to any one, and they really seem to care about their customers experience. If I am not doing the work on my truck or car, then Goss's Garage is. No one else can come close to meeting their standards.

Goss' Garage II has fixed both my car and truck several times for different reasons. They've always been very friendly and honest and charge fair prices.

Reliable, competent, and FRIENDLY service. These folks are the REAL DEAL but they don't let it go to their heads. They go out of their way to let you know that they appreciate your patronage, while taking the time to explain the provided and recommended services. With Pat Goss' reputation on the line, you KNOW your vehicle is being cared for by an experienced and skilled technician. This is exactly what Crofton needed.

Recently, I took our 2012 Honda Civic to Goss’ Garage in Crofton, Maryland. The motor was bogging down in between shifts. When I met with the counter person, he said he could get us in the following day, and that there would be some diagnosis time, not to exceed a certain amount. I mentioned the small attempts I had made to address the problem on my end- all basic maintenance including replacing my spark plugs with E3’s- a brand I have used for years in other vehicles, and that are quite popular in NHRA. They had never heard of them. (?) I was told they like to make sure that all repairs involve standard OEM parts so they were going to start with replacing the spark plugs with OEM’s. ‘seemed a bit unusual, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I also mentioned that I needed the car back for the weekend and was assured that would be no problem. We scheduled the appointment for first thing the next morning-on a Friday. I was kind of excited because in years past I had watched the PBS program featuring their founder, and because on their website they state “we can fix anything” gave me even more confidence. The next day, I dropped the car off first thing in the morning. By just after lunch time, since I hadn’t heard anything back, I called them just to check in. I was told they were to get the car in that afternoon to take a look. I was wondering why it hadn’t been looked at yet, but things happen. No problem. Around 3 o’clock in the afternoon I received a call. They replaced the spark plugs, but still couldn’t find the problem. I was given a significant number of things it “could be”, and that if I wanted to leave the car over the weekend, and then start a “time and materials diagnosis”, they would be happy to do that. Really? I picked the car up that afternoon, and was presented a bill for just under 200.00. I paid it to get my car back, but was quite disappointed. As it turns out, after speaking with a friend of mine, the problem wasn’t the motor at all, it was the transmission. After just under 30.00 of parts, and about 30 minutes on my back in my driveway, I had changed the transmission fluid and the car was running like new. So, I came away with 2 possible scenarios after this experience: 1- They really have no clue what they’re doing 2- They are crooks. I honestly don’t know which is the case or if it’s a combination of both. The only reason I wrote this is because I got a card in the mail from them stating how they value the opportunity to serve me, and that they welcomed a review on Google.

Mr. Reiger. I am very sorry that you were not satisfied with our shop. Please google "E3 spark plugs gimmick" and you will see why we had to remove those plugs from your car. Also we had a new service advisor (he is no longer with us for reasons like this) who clearly did not explain everything properly. My name is Anthony, I am to co- owner of the shop will you please give me a call at 410-451-4677. I would like to try to make this situation right.

It's pricey but they do the job. $110 for oil change on a Jetta...

I am very sorry you feel that way, however you drive a European car. They require special oil and a high quality oil filter. If you go to your local parts store to purchase the same oil we used its almost $11 per quart. Our price was only $8.83 a quart. We are not an oil change chain store so we can not compete with their price. Your are also not getting the same quality of oil and the oil filter there. We do not use $2.00 oil filters. This was the second time we changed your oil at that price, why is it an issue now?
